Keynote speakers (2023)

Daniel Raichvarg is emeritus Professor of Information and Communication Sciences at the University of Burgundy (Laboratory CIMEOS, Information and Communication Sciences). He is Honorary President of French Society for Information and Communication Studies (2014-2018, 2terms presidency), Councellor for Terre de Louis Pasteur – sciences and heritage –, International expert in the fields of Public Understanding of Sciences and Tourism, Environment, Culture and Mediation – research, education and training.

 

Nick Millett is an actor, acting coach and performing arts director. He is also an educator and a consultant in strategy and innovation. He combines acting, applied creativity and philosophical/psychological approaches to help his clients and students structure their thinking and creatively conceptualize their contexts. The approach makes industrial clients and engineering students think differently and dive deeper, developing their awareness and strengthening their concepts. He has published on the philosophy of automation and the future of Human Machine Interaction in the automotive industry.

Philippe Bonfils is a university professor at the IMSIC laboratory of the University of Toulon. He is director of the Ufr Ingémédia and honorary president of the Société Française des Sciences de l’Information et de la Communication. His research focuses on the study of new forms and mutations of communication and mediation processes at work in socio-technical devices such as immersive environment

Olga Kotyk, founder and president of the Web-Korki Foundation, a student of the Institute of Applied Linguistics from the Faculty of Modern Languages, was on the Forbes magazine list among the 25 most influential people under 25 years old. During free online tutoring, volunteers of her Foundation offer their help not only in the subjects they teach, but also help students believe in themselves and see their potential.

 

Our main lecturers (2023)

Jan Gunčaga –  profesor, Department of Science Education, Comenius University in Bratislava (Slovakia). Ján does research in Mathematics Education, Teaching Methods and Pedagogic Theory. Their current project is ‘Geometric conceptions and misconceptions of pre-school and school age children’, History of Mathematics Education, ICT in Education.

 

Małgorzata Makiewicz – associate profesor of The Maria Grzegorzewska University, Warsaw, Poland Małgorzata’s main interests are: didactics of mathematics, mathematical culture, students’ mathematical interests and abilities, photo-education, media in education, social values ​​of mathematical education. Initiator and organizer of competitions and exhibitions “Mathematics in the lens”.

Guenter Maresch – profesor, Department of Mathematics, Geometry and ICT Education (School of Education), University of Salzburg (Austria). Guenter does research in Geometry Education, Spatial Ability Research, Computer Graphics, Computer Aided Design and Computing in Mathematics, Natural Science and Engineering. His current project is ‘Satial Ability’ Research.

Iwona Maciejowska – associate professor at the Jagiellonian University (PL). Iwona is experienced lecturer and (university) teacher trainer with a demonstrated history of working in and for the higher education institutions. Skilled in Teaching, University Teaching & Learning, E-Learning, Staff development and Science (PhD in Chemistry).

 

John Oversby – profesor, independent researcher at Science Education Futures, United Kingdom. After a PhD in free radical Chemistry, John took up teaching secondary school sciences and mathematics in Ghana and UK, for over 22 years. He then moved into teaching teachers at the University of Reading, UK, for 22 years. He worked with two EU projects, then was leader of another on climate change education. He has run an international teacher-researcher group for 26 years. His present research interests include: the role of diagrams and animations in learning in the sciences; climate change education; global justice education and action.

Nataliia Demeshkant – associate professor in the Institute of Social Pedagogy and Family Support at Pedagogical University (PL). Her scientific interests are mainly within the teacher training, and the educational uses of ICT in environmental and health education. Nataliia has published within applied qualitative and quantitative research and has been PI, PM, WP-leader and participant in more than 10 research and action projects.

 

Łukasz Tomczyk – associate professor at the Jagiellonian University (PL). Łukasz obtained the degrees of: PhDr (adult education) Charles University in Prague – Czech Republic, PhD (media education, social pedagogy) Pedagogical University of Cracow, computer science engineer. Researcher in few international projects. Lecturer at several universities (Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, Croatia, Brasil, Republic of Dominica, Italy). His research interest concern media education, information society and lifelong learning.

 

Tomasz Hałatkiewicz – PhD Eng., is a forestry engineer and natural scientist. Director of the Complex of Świętokrzyskie and Naddnidziańskie Landscape Parks in Kielce. He is active in the Polish Forest Society.

 

Jan Rajmund Paśko – emeritus professor at the Pedagogical University of Krakow (PL), chemistry teacher, organic chemist, photographer, youth educator. His research interests are mainly chemistry didactics, he is the author of many academic and school chemistry textbooks and monographs devoted to holistic reflections on nature and didactics

 

Małgorzata Krzeczkowska – PhD, assistant professor at Faculty of Chemistry, the Jagiellonian University (PL), also home-educator, chemistry teacher at Montessori primary school in Kraków; science mediator

 

Marek Kaczmarzyk – associate professor at the University of Silesia (PL). Nerodidactic, biologist and memetician, popularizer of biological knowledge in the context of the learning proces.

 

Marlena Plebańska – associate professor at the Warsaw University (PL). One of the precursors of Polish e-education, specialization in knowledge management, e-learning, Design Thinking. An expert in distance learning and the use of new media in education.
